Looking for affordable outdoor rugs to makeover your outdoor spaces? Here are some of the best rugs that won’t break the bank.

You all were the SWEETEST when I shared my front and back porch. So many questions—including rug questions. So today? This is a post about affordable outdoor rugs.
Where you can get them?
Which ones have the best pattern?
Which ones I love that I’ve ordered for less than the cost of a fancy dinner.
But can we press pause for just a moment on the entire rug discussion?
And tell you the most amazing thing that is just around the outside decorating corner?
Remember how our yard disappeared last year? Remember how the weeds took over? And then—remember the year before that how the snowstorm came in February and took out all our large bushes that my father planted all those years ago?
(total aside: if you don’t remember any of that—no worries–I’ll show you all the pictures soon).
We’ve been working and sketching and dreaming and now this year we are redoing all the beds in the front yard and WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE what we have planned. The goal is to have everything planted by the beginning of April before it gets too hot here. I’m going to document everything just in case you need any gardening tips and I’m even thinking about planting pomegranates. Amazing—I know—right?
I. Can’t. Wait.
And now?
Back to our regularly scheduled rug program.

But wait.
Before we discuss indoor/outdoor rugs—someone brilliant just commented and asked me if I ever recommended rugs that weren’t outdoor rugs.
Oh, my wonderful wonderful friend.
Come sit by me and all my indoor rugs, too.
Here are some of my favorite rug posts:
- the best neutral rugs
- the best blue and white rugs
- my favorite Walmart rugs (and a mini house tour)
- the best washable rugs
- how to get stains out of rugs
- how to flatten a rug corner
And now?
Let’s discuss indoor/outdoor rugs.
(total aside: someone just asked me if I ever used indoor/outdoor rugs in the house, too? Yes. They work well in the house in places where you have high stain potential—I’m looking at you kitchen.)

20 Best Affordable Outdoor Rugs For the Porch

Let’s start with neutral.
Neutral with a pattern.
Most of my porches have a neutral background to go with the house.

Here’s our back porch.
This black and white striped rug is my all-time favorite outdoor rug.
I think it’s the bold, graphic pattern that makes me so happy.
I got it for under $60 at Walmart and it comes in different colors and sizes and it just makes the entire porch pop.
Best summer purchase so far.

I shared the front porch from this year that’s waiting for flowers and so here’s a more colorful version of our front porch from last year.
After we painted the brick porch and the steps several years ago (best decision ever—here’s how it held up two years later).
It was a LOT of painted surface, so I added these two black striped rugs again to each side of the porch.

mini blue pattern/mini stripe/classic floral (super similar with a coupon)
But what if you love blue and white like me?
No worries.
I got you.

I’m actually working on a fun project where I needed to find blue and white rugs.
And some of these?
May or may not have come home with me.
And look at the deal I found on this one (there’s a $10 coupon, too). It’s truly meant for outside because it’s made of woven plastic- but IT’S SO PRETTY.
I also loved this tile pattern and this tiny stripe and the classic look of this rug.

And remember this Cape Cod beach house back porch makeover from a while back?
This rug is everything.
I got so many questions about the rug and then it sold out.
But in amazing news?
They brought it back this year.
How is your porch decorating going?
Are you getting it ready for spring?
Just remember—rugs are amazing. Planters are amazing. Porch swings are amazing.
But the one thing that every porch needs?
A little sweet tea.
Happy spring.
