I’ve painted more furniture than I can even begin to count. Over the years I’ve put together a list of all the painted furniture colors that I love. Here are my tried and true paint colors.

I love to paint.

Seriously.

I would rather paint a room than fix a pot roast any day of the week.

Usually I’m all about neutrals.  I’ve already shared my favorite gray paint colors and my favorite white paint colors.

But today?

Today summer is just around the corner.

Today is about fun and summer and sunshine and lemonade and green grass and color.

If you have a thrift store piece of furniture or a table or chair or random bookshelf just looking for a coat of paint?

What Are the Most Popular Painted Furniture Colors?

Let’s start at the very beginning (it’s a very good place to start).

Because sometimes when you find an abandoned table or begin a DIY project or re-do a bookshelf….

….you start holding a bunch of paint chips.

*sigh*

And it can be a little overwhelming.

No worries friend.

Paint is your friend—especially paint colors like this.

1.  SW 6874 Ardent Coral

I almost sighed when this picture came up.

This is my go-to coral.

It’s what I painted my dresser for the BHG challenge.

It’s the perfect almost orange—but with the slightest hint of pink coral.

2.  SW 6855 Dragon Fruit

I love this pink.

I painted the hutch in the gatehouse SW 6855 Dragon Fruit and I love it, too.

It’s the kind of pink you would take out on the town and ask to the dance.

A little can go a long way with this vibrant color so I recommend starting with a piece of furniture.

Kind of like dating it first.

3.  SW 6901 Daffodil

Okay….seriously….can we start with the name?

Who wouldn’t love a paint color named after a flower?

This yellow is cheerful and happy and joyful and energetic.

And it looks so pretty when you pair it with navy or gray.

4.  SW Atmospheric 6505

I love this light blue because it reminds me of the summer sky.

It’s fresh and fun and vibrant and full of life.

This blue is such a fun option to add a little summer refresh to a bookshelf.

5.  SW 7016 Mindful Gray

I’m all for color, but I like a little neutral in all my rooms during the summer.

This has been my go-to gray for over 10 years.

This gray is not overwhelming.

It doesn’t shout.

It simply whispers to you when you enter the room.

6. SW 7008 Alabaster

I found this piece at a thrift store a while back and now it’s painted SW Alabaster and in the corner of the craft room.

And the best part?

When you open up the doors?

It looks like this.

I added stick-on cork tiles to the doors to help organize all the stuff and messages in the craft room.

7. SW 7016 Extra White

We found these bookcases that needed a little TLC and took them and made them into a built-in on either side of the couch upstairs in the upstairs family room.

Then we painted the bookcases the color of the wals and the molding.

It’s such a popular white color SW 7016 Extra White.

8. SW 6496 Oceanside

I found this mid-century piece at a thrift store for only $15.

You should see how sad it was when I got it.

And then?

We added a little color—SW Oceanside to be exact.

9. SW 6244 Naval

Here’s a simple idea to makeover a table in under an hour.

I’ll give you a hint.

Just add painter’s tape and one of the most popular painted furniture colors– a little SW 6244 Naval.

And now?

It looks like this.

10. Front Porch SW 7651

This is a plain wood set that I got for a client.

They wanted color in the space and so I painted the chairs and the table the colors of summer.

It’s such a bright and happy makeover.

11. SW 7547 Sandbar

Here’s where this dresser started.

I added a stencil and painted it with a base coat of SW 7547 Sandbar with a gray stencil.

And now?

It looks like this.

Truth?

This piece a testimony to the fact that not every furniture find needs to be painted.

Sometimes they just need a little love like this pine dresser.

Especially when they have a really good story like this one.
