I just sent out Evites for Mother’s Day.
Now that I’m officially a cook, I invited my mother and mother-in-law as guests of honor Saturday night for a feast.
I’ve cooked a test run and gotten input from my test-kitchen panel and already figured out the dessert I made was NOT going to work at all (it was a strawberry pie that I couldn’t figure out how to get it to “set” correctly with gelatin).
Go big or go home.
We are printing out menus and I’ve ordered the cutest napkins and table runner and placemats for the table and appetizers and a musical performance are scheduled for 5:30.
Fingers crossed.
It’s going to be epic.
If it all works out I’ll share pictures and the menu and the recipes.
But today?
Today is when I’m sharing all my favorite finds from last month, there’s a tanning solution, a mopping solution, a storage solution and a solution for all those pesky flies.
Here are 11 things I wish I had bought sooner.

// set of scallop baskets //
1. This set of scallop baskets
Let’s start with my favorite way to organize.
This set of scallop baskets have hinged lids in the back and scallops in the front.
They are so sturdy and the perfect way to organize all that “stuff” that needs a home.
You can see the set of scallop baskets here.

// wood power mop //
2. This wood power mop
I’m always cleaning up little messes around the house.
I’m looking at you Buddy.
This is the perfect solution. The mop has a cleaning solution that clicks in place, then you just press the button and cleaner squirts out and you can just mop it up right then and there.
The set comes with two mop pads that you can wash and replace.
It’s the perfect solution to clean your floors quickly and easily.
You can see the wood power mop here.

// automatic opening trashcan //
3. This automatic opening trash can
This is the CUTEST trashcan and it opens automatically when you wave your hand.
There’s a little button at the end of the lid, you wave your hand over it and the top pops open automatically.
Then it closes itself and looks neat and tidy.
You can see the trash can here.

// cable management box //
4. This cable management box
A while back some of you messaged me about cord management.
I shared this basket that we have that sits on the side table.
There are notches on both sides where the cords come out and the rest of the cords are all inside the basket. It just keeps everything neat and organized.
You can see this cable management box here.

// these suction cup hooks //
5. These suction cup hooks
I’ve used these before, but I just reordered them.
These suction hooks go everywhere.
There’s a suction part in the back that you suction on and then add the hook on top.
The perfect solution for everywhere you need a hook.
You can see these suction cup hooks here.

// this solution for crepy skin //
6. This solution for crepy skin
This is actually not my solution.
I’ve been dealing with crepy skin on my arms and I reached out to a friend of mine who is a big YouTuber and a dermatologist.
And she recommended this AmLactin Intensive Healing Body Lotion.
I ordered it a while back and I’ve been using it ever since and it has made SUCH A DIFFERENCE. I use it right after the bath and it seals in all the moisture and my skin still looks soft and generally uncrepy the next day.
You can see this solution for crepy skin.

// self-tanner towelettes //
7. Self-tanner towelettes
I’ve shared these before and they were one of my best sellers, so I thought they deserved a repeat.
These are so easy if you are going on vacation or don’t want to mess with a spray.
They come in a set of six and you just take out the towelette (that looks just like a face wipe) and wipe the self-tanner on.
The tan looks so realistic and easy to use. I use Medium for my shade.
You can see the self-tanner towelettes here.

// bendable branches //
8. These bendable branches
One of the best ways to bring a little spring and summer into a room?
Greenery.
You can cut branches from the yard and put them in a glass vase or you can use these faux branches. They come in a set of three and are almost 4 feet long.
The stems bend and they drape so realistically.
You can see the branches here.

// the flying insect trap here //
9. Flying Insect Trap
I don’t know where all the flies in our house come from, but nothing makes me more frustrated than FLIES.
This is such an amazing solution.
You plug it in and it attracts the bugs with a blue light. You just toss the strip after a week or so and add a new one. I couldn’t even believe how many flies it catches and how well it works.

// this queen-size duvet cover // this gingham duvet cover //
10. This queen-size duvet set
I love a good quality duvet cover—especially one that’s neutral.
It’s under $25 for the white set with the shams (but it comes in tons of other colors, too) and it feels so high-end. If you are looking for a summer bed refresh? This set is such a good value for the price.

And this blue and white gingham duvet cover here.

// these faux flowers //
11. These faux flowers
Last year, I had these flowers on my porch with my Diplandenias and they looked so real everyone thought they were the same flower.
They come in a set of two packs and when you fluff them out, the two sets fill out a planter like this.
I added dirt to the planter and stuck the flowers in the dirt. I think they look so real because the leaves are two different colors.

I hope you found a few solutions with this post.
That’s me—the solution girl.
And I’ll report back on the entire Mother’s Day celebration and menu.
Fingers crossed.
