Above: Editor in chief Julie Carlson chose Geremia‘s Bale Lane Ground Up submission, noting its “spa-like vibe” and how the “chic, of-the-moment light fixtures keep it from feeling too ‘wine country.’” Photograph by Suzannah Scott.
Above: Guest judge Stephen Alesch was impressed with the attention to detail in Arciform‘s Kitzis Family Modernized Bath Remodel. “The detailing on the vanities is impressive, and a small thing like the shadow line at the ceiling show this project is very well controlled and precise,” he says. Above: Megan Bachmann Interiors‘ Modern Farmhouse Master Bathroom caught Stephen’s eye as well. “The carpet is such a unique touch in this bathroom, as well as the shiplap around the tub,” he says. “It’s breaking rules, but in an elegant, wise, and peaceful way.” Photograph by Delbarr Moradi.
Above: Julie calls John Lum Architecture‘s Stunningly Simple Master Bath “minimalism done well” and admires the way the “clean lines and subtle design touches make for a soothing sanctuary.” Photograph by Paul Dyer.
Above: A collaboration between architecture firm Space Exploration and interior design firm White Arrow, Williamsburg Schoolhouse Master Bathroom was a favorite of Stephen’s for its unique style. “I love this bathroom—especially the wet room behind the handsome muntined steel door. It’s a unique mashup of cultures, done very carefully and well,” he says.
